A descoberta ocorreu quando uma retroescavadeira estava retirando parte do asfalto da via.<br \/>\nOs bondes el\u00e9tricos chegaram ao Ipiranga em 1903. Em 1909 foi criado a linha \u201cF\u00e1brica\u201d, chegando \u00e0 f\u00e1brica do empres\u00e1rio Nami Jafet.
